We’re going back to our favorite place
— you coming?
The one thing all of our participants say when they arrive at the Costa Rica retreat location is:
“Wow, I can’t believe I’m here. It’s so much more magical than in the photos.”
Believe us, we know. That’s part of the reason we want to bring as many of you there as possible. It’s one of the few places where nature is so present without feeling overwhelming. It’s a place that holds you effortlessly and brings out your own nature in ways you might not expect. That’s the perfect setting for the kind of work we do at Sense & Presence.
We don’t promise shortcuts to anything. Spoiler: there aren’t any. We offer practices and tools that strip away the layers of non-truth and guide you back to yourself. No biggie.
That path isn’t always easy and definitely not comfortable. That’s okay. We believe you already have what it takes for whatever you want to do in life, and we’re here to help you see that.
Are you ready to meet yourself?
The Journeys
For 2027 we decided to offer two dates because so many of you mentioned wanting to join but not being able to due to the dates — we hear you! The two retreats will be back-to-back which also means you can stay for both. Both retreats share the same foundation: strong embodied practices, nature immersion, honest self-inquiry, and a distraction-free environment that allows the nervous system to recalibrate naturally. What changes is the lens through which we explore the experience. The usual experience is that by day 3 time starts to speed up and in a blink of an eye the retreat is over and everyone wishes they could stay longer. Well, now you can!

PERCEIVE is about sharpening attention again.
Through physically and mentally engaging yoga practices, sensory explorations, breathwork, journaling, and nature immersion, we work with the relationship between attention, perception, and presence.
What happens when the nervous system finally has enough space to distinguish signal from noise? What becomes visible when we stop flooding ourselves with constant stimulation and start paying attention again?
This retreat explores direct experience: sensation, reaction, focus, patterns, energy, and the ability to fully meet the present moment without immediately escaping it.
For people who feel scattered, overstimulated, disconnected, or mentally overloaded and want to reconnect to clarity, attention, and embodied awareness.
-
RECEIVE explores the difference between unconscious consumption and intentional reception.
Through strong practices, breathwork, reflection, ritual, and nature immersion, we work with discernment, attachment, emotional filtering, and the ways our conditioning shapes what we consume from the world around us.
We take in so much every single day — thoughts, emotions, stimulation, opinions, noise — and rarely create enough space to simply observe them without immediately identifying with them. This retreat explores what becomes possible when we loosen our grip a little and relate to experience with more awareness and less attachment.
For people who want to live with more clarity, intention, discernment, and conscious relationship to themselves and the world around them.
-
PERCEIVE and RECEIVE are designed to stand alone, but together they create one complete journey.
The first week sharpens awareness.
The second week refines discernment.Together, the two retreats explore what it means to move through life consciously: to perceive clearly, receive intentionally, and reconnect to direct experience in a world built for distraction.
If you choose to join both retreats, you’ll have one integration day in between to rest, explore, and settle deeper into the rhythm of Costa Rica before beginning the second chapter of the journey.
THE FULL JOURNEY is for those wanting enough time and space for the practices to move beyond insight and into real integration.
Practices
There will be two practices daily — one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. You can expect to do some sort of asana practice everyday but we’ll also do pranayama, guided meditation, journaling and somatic movement. In between practices, there’s plenty of time to swim in the ocean, read in a hammock, explore the jungle, rest, connect with others, or simply do absolutely nothing.
Location&Venue
Our retreats take place at Finca Exotica, a remote eco-lodge tucked between the rainforest and the ocean on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula.
Accommodation is spread across three Ocean View cabins that are all open-air and equipped with a private bathroom and an outdoor shower (best ever shower experience), mosquito nets and hammocks.
The yoga deck is one of the many highlights at Finca Exotica. Imagine practicing to the sounds, sights and smells of raw nature where wildlife is so present that it naturally takes you out of your head and allows you to connect deeply. It’s magical.

"The presence of Adriana and Krystsina — and Patrick’s subtle, grounding masculine energy — created a very safe, harmonious atmosphere. The food, the organization, and the communication were all heartfelt and caring."

"It’s hard to put into words, this is something to experience for yourself. I would recommend this retreat to anyone who feels called to reconnect with themselves and to slow down their pace. There is something truly special about Finca Exotica, the energy of the place is powerful, grounding, and transformative. Combined with Adriana’s loving presence and deep experience, it creates a space where you feel safe to open up, explore, and truly feel yourself through the practices. It’s not just a retreat, it’s an experience that stays with you."

"The biggest takeaway for me was the experience of truly being in nature in a way I hadn’t before. It was my first time sleeping outdoors like this, fully immersed in the environment. Especially at night, it felt challenging with no phone service to distract you, no physical barriers, no usual comfort. That vulnerability pushed me out of my comfort zone in a very real way, especially because it was not just for 1-2 nights only. Now that I’m back home, I catch myself thinking: shit & wow, what an experience that was. The place and nature around us felt like paradise and super powerful and breathtaking. I’m genuinely happy I went through with it and pushed away my doubts I had in the beginning. I have this strong sense of momentum that I can hopefully keep up as long as possible. On a different note, I’m taking away a renewed determination to be less passive in my own life. The retreat triggered something in me and showed me parts I had forgotten: I want to speak up more, to do more of what I genuinely enjoy, and to be less afraid of showing up as myself. It also helped me see certain parts of myself more clearly, including aspects I currently struggle with and perhaps do not like that much. However, instead of seeing them as (only) flaws, I’m beginning to understand them as areas where I need more acceptance and perhaps a shift in perspective."

FAQ
-
This retreat is designed for practitioners who already have some experience with yoga and feel ready to explore their practice more deeply. While you don’t need to be advanced, a certain level of familiarity and body awareness is helpful, as the practices can be both physically and emotionally challenging.
-
Yes—Costa Rica is considered one of the safest countries in Central America and welcomes travelers from around the world. That said, Finca Exotica is located in a very remote part of the country, which means fewer people and more nature. As with all travel, we recommend using common sense, staying hydrated, and respecting your surroundings.
-
This retreat takes place in the jungle, where insects and other wildlife are part of daily life. While the accommodations are well-kept and the beds have mosquito nets, you’ll likely encounter creatures you’re not used to. If you’re open to stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing nature in its raw form, this can be a deeply enriching experience. If not, this may not be the right setting for you.
-
Finca Exotica is situated by Carate Beach in Osa Peninsula, accessible by private charter jet, taxi, or bus. We recommend flying to Puerto Jimenez and then taking a taxi from there. We can organize a taxi for you upon request.
-
We recommend bringing some cash (USD or CR Colones) for extra activities, taxis or souvenirs. There is no ATM and no shops at Finca Exotica. Sometimes there are locals selling beautiful handmade products like bags, jewelry and more.
-
Once you're registered, you will receive a checklist for what to bring. In general, we recommend travelling light. Most people come with only a backpack.
-
We ask all participants to show up to every session, even if it means simply being present in the space. You’re always invited to participate in a way that feels right for you—whether that’s moving fully, resting, or simply observing. Each practice is part of a greater arc, and your presence matters—not just for you, but for the group.
-
We understand that unexpected things can happen. Please know that all deposits are non-refundable, and the remaining balance is refundable only up until the final payment deadline. After that, we’re unable to offer refunds, as we have committed costs on our end. We recommend booking travel insurance to protect your investment in case of unforeseen changes. If you have questions about your specific situation, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to talk.
-
Absolutely! The retreat will be held in English but together the instructors speak 6+ languages. Most participants will not have English as their first language and it's always fun to find ways to communicate outside of our own language.

This retreat is designed as a space for personal exploration, rest, and connection, both individually and within the group. To support this, we ask that participants come on their own—without pets or children—so that everyone can fully immerse themselves in the experience. We deeply appreciate your understanding.
